Combat troops only make up about a third of a modern army's strength, bra. Most of the manpower consists of REMFs, rear echelon motherf**kers. Combat blanket stackers and the like.
In the chair force and navy the number of combat troops is tiny even if you count fighter / bomber pilots (LOL, PUSH BUTTAN, KILL CIVILIANS).

I was pretty sure that the military in every country in the modern era had to keep personal eccentricities and differences at a mininum in order to be a more unified and effective fighting force
